Super Bowl Poem

Here’s this week’s mentor/mentee poetry challenge poem. A reminder: each week my #pbchat mentor, and all three of her mentees, write a poem using a word one of us chooses. It was my turn this week, and I chose the word “bear”. Sure…I internally rhymed “bear” with “bear”, but sometimes the rules get bent ; D

I was inspired by the Super Bowl which began as I started my poem. My little cubs and Papa Bear are watching the game—I’m hiding at my desk!

SUPER BOWL

There was a bear who couldn't bear to watch the Super Bowl.

But all his friends were football fans, from Hawk, to Hare, and Mole.

The bear was hiding in his cave, "I hope I'm left alone!"

But on his door he heard a knock. The bear let out a groan.

"Come join us, Bear," the creatures cried, "the snacks are pure delight!"

The bear came out and ate them up, "You know—those guys were right!"
